He begins a new chapter in life

I would rather spend 100 hours working on what I love than 20 hours doing something that I’m ultimately indifferent about. So, that’s what I’m doing here, attempting to pour myself into the work that I’m wild-eyed about, working each issue to be a better storyteller than I was in the last one.
I come from my hometown of Fredericksburg. I can say genuinely that Southside Virginia reminds me of Fredericksburg without all the overbuilt shopping centers and incessant Interstate 95 traffic. For that, I am grateful.
I don’t know what this chapter of my life will bring me, but I do know that the fact that I’m spending all of my work week practicing what I’m passionate about brings a very real joy to my soul.
In the past I worked as a reporter at the Northern Neck News.
If there’s anything my time at the Northern Neck News taught me, it’s that my number one concern as a writer is the people I’m writing for, whether it’s in telling their story or documenting information on government projects, is to make sure that information has a place to be easily digested. It is a cornerstone of the industry I work in — that sometimes is unfortunately forgotten — to give a voice to the voiceless. I hope to do what I can to help lift up that voice.
Going forward, let me know what I can do to better assist in documenting this area’s current events. I hold a belief much like many of my colleagues here, this job is in a way public service and I intend on telling the full story for the people.
