Lunenburg’s Got Talent is Sunday

Lunenburg County students will take to the stage Sunday afternoon for the inaugural Lunenburg’s Got Talent at 2 p.m. at Central High School.

The show is sponsored by the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce and Benchmark Community Bank.

According to a press release, a $500 prize will be awarded in categories for grades first-fifth; sixth-eighth and ninth-12th.

Judges for the show include state Sen. Frank Ruff, Gary Taggart, a longtime radio personality and musical entertainer, Gary Hickman, owner and operator of Buffalo Creek Guitar in Farmville and Melody Haskins, a science teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Richmond. According to the release, Melody is a CHS graduate whose father, C.B. Haskins, was band director at CHS for a number of years.
