Chargers continue to impress us

Central High School’s varsity baseball team entered this week with a 12-3 record this season, and Chargers Head Coach Michael Atkins said his team was currently the No. 1 seed in Conference 42 and in Region 1A East. In a four-game stretch from April 26 through May 3, the Chargers outscored their opponents 46-7, and the only teams the Chargers have lost to this year have been Randolph-Henry High School and Goochland High School. During a recent 12-0 victory over visiting Nottoway High School, Central players pictured above include, from left, Noah Dunbar, Ethan Hoover, running on the baseline, and Jeffrey Goodwin, Daryl Jones, Malik Foster and L.J. Watson, occupying the dugout. We’re  continually impressed by the stellar performance, sportsmanship and hard work shown by these young men. For that, we commend them.
