Upcoming 4-H camps noted

4-H is offering numerous camps for youth across Southside Virginia.

Lunenburg/Lynchburg/Appomattox 4-H Camp Week 

This camp will take place July 3-7 at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox. This camp is geared for all youth ages 9-13 (as of Sept. 30, 2017). The total cost per child will be $195 which includes overnight lodging, meals, insurance, counselor and adult supervision, classes, program costs, camp T-shirt, and transportation to and from camp. Campers have the opportunity to participate in exciting classes, with many options to choose from, including scuba, canoeing, riflery, archery, swimming and horsemanship. There are also swimming and recreation times, special evening events, songs, games and much more.

Camp ‘FUN’ tastic

This camp will take place July 17-21 at different locations across Lunenburg and surrounding counties for the week for ages 5-18. Cost will be $60 for the week and campers will need to bring a packed lunch each day. Campers will participate in a “FUN” week of different activities such as swimming, games, putt, putt, visit to Kerr Lake and much more.

4-H Cloverbud ‘Day’ Camp

This camp will take place July 12-13 at the Victoria library from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for ages 5-8. Cost will be $15 for the two days and campers will need to bring a packed lunch each day. Campers will participate in fun activities, crafts and games.

Horse ‘Day’ Camp

This camp will take place Aug. 2 at Keats Point Farm in Boydton from 9 a.m.-4 p.m for ages 9-18. Cost will be $15 and campers will need to bring a packed lunch. Campers will learn about safety ground horses and the grooming of horses. Each camper will also get a chance to ride a horse.
