The Lunenburg Girls Softball (LGS) Ponytails and Darlings All-Star teams recently saw their runs come to an end after each of them played two games in their respective Dixie Softball District 1 All-Star tournaments.
The LGS Ponytails played their first game against the Dinwiddie All-Star team, taking an early lead before falling 7-5.
Next the LGS squad faced Blackstone.
“They took their chance when given and put some runs on the board, but the Clarksville team would answer and the game would end with Clarksville on top to put the LGS Ponytails out of the tournament,” LGS Commissioner Tony Matthews said. “Congrats to the team on their all star experience.”
The LGS Darlings started off against the Brunswick All-Star team, fighting hard but falling short. On the second day, they faced the Blackstone All-Star team.
“They fought hard, (but) in the end the Blackstone runs would be greater,” Matthews said, offering congratulations to the LGS squad for its all-star experience.
Matthews thanked the teams’ coaches and the parents who took their players to games and practices.
