A large crowd flocked to the Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department’s Independence Day Celebration on Saturday. Many gathered on picnic blankets with their families to take in fireworks which were launched near the firehouse. Music was provided by Class Act. Brunswick Stew was served starting in the morning, and the event also featured food and craft vendors throughout the day.
