If you’re a music fan, then the Lunenburg County Public Library System (LCPLS) has a real treat for you this summer.

“On Aug. 15, author and Victoria native Martha Harvin will visit the Victoria Public Library to read selections from her new book ‘He’s a Funny Cat, Ms. High,’ a memoir detailing her years as a backup singer for the legendary James Brown. The reading will be from 10:30 a.m.-noon in the community room and is open to the public.”

“LCPLS would like to thank all the participants of our 2017 Summer Reading Program. This was our most successful summer ever with over 150 books read by our participants and we want to keep the momentum going with our young readers,” library officials said. “Check out our new book displays in each branch, visit with our staff librarians for reading recommendations or browse through our online catalog at www.lunenburglibraries.com. You can also visit our Facebook page to see pictures of our guest speakers and activities.”

LCPLS patrons will have a chance to win a pool pass to the Victoria Town Pool by guessing the favorite author or book of one of LCPLS’ librarians. Details are available at each branch and drawings will be held later this month.
