The Blackstone Chamber of Commerce awarded Kenston Forest School (KFS) the Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday, March 17 at its annual banquet held at the Officer’s Club at Fort Pickett.
“The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to a business or individual (active or retired) that has been in business in the Blackstone area for over 20 years,” officials said in a press release. “KFS has demonstrated the following: exemplary commitment to the community above and beyond business contributions, service to the Blackstone Chamber of Commerce, established ability to be successful in changing times and advocate for business in the greater Blackstone area.”
“Chuck Arnason, Chamber chairman, presented the award and read the nomination letter. ‘KFS has been in business serving our local community and the nine surrounding counties for 50 years. They have demonstrated their commitment to our community in many ways but their premier accomplishment is equipping our youth with the skill set to succeed in an ever-changing society. Their instructional methods are on the leading edge of science, technology engineering, art and math. They are educating the future leaders of our community and beyond. Their students have excelled in every aspect of learning, from athletics to forensic and debate. They have developed the ability to not only teach, but to create discerning minds that can think and act in our complex world.’”
