The Lunenburg County Youth Baseball League (LCYBL) Minors All-Star team had an outstanding run in its district tournament in Keysville, and it was highly competitive in the state tournament over the weekend, but it ultimately could not keep its season going, falling twice in Appomattox, eliminating the squad from play.

“They really put in the hard work, and they had to come back in each of these games, and they did it, and they just, being the visiting team, just couldn’t come back all the way,” LCYBL Minors Manager Gerald Hooton said.

Lunenburg fell 8-7 to the Hopewell All-Stars on Saturday after coming up just short against the Halifax All-Star team Friday. See this week’s edition of The Dispatch for more details.
