AUGUST 9-11

REVIVAL SERVICES, at Bethany Baptist Church, Kenbridge, with prayer and praise service at 7 p.m. and services at 7:30 p.m. Homecoming service will be Sunday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clark delivering the message. Everyone is welcome.

AUGUST 12

UNVEILING CEREMONY, 10 a.m. of the Nathaniel Lee Hawthorne Historical Marker at 722 Mecklenburg Ave., Victoria, beside Gilfield RZUA Church. Reception to follow at People’s Community Center, Victoria.

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY MEETING, 11 a.m. at 200 David Bruce Ave. (intersection of routes 40 and 47) in Charlotte Court House. Guest speaker for this month’s program will be Connie Routon Purvis. The topic of her presentation is titled “Grandma’s Garden: A gift to the Generations, A study of Flowers and Shrubs passed from Grandmother to Daughter to Grandchild.” The programs are free and open to everyone. YARD SALE EXTRAVAGANZA GIVE-AWAY, 8 a.m.-noon at Jonesboro Baptist Church, 1955 Jonesboro Road, Blackstone. Items to be given away include clothes (all sizes), toys, kitchen items, games and school supplies. Come early for best selection. Something for everyone.

AUGUST 13

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 2104 Jonesboro Road, Kenbridge. Preacher will be the Rev. Albert Walker Jr. of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Clarksville. Dinner to follow service. Revival will be held August 16-18 with different speakers each night. Everyone is welcome.

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL at Star Light Baptist Church. The Rev. Ray A. Smith will deliver the message for the homecoming service at 11 a.m. Dinner will follow. Revival services will be held August 14-18 with prayer and praise service at 7 p.m. with service to follow at 7:15 p.m. There will be different preachers and choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

AUGUST 16-18

ANNUAL REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at Tussekiah Baptist Church, Lunenburg Court House. Guest preacher for the revival will be the Rev. Isaiah Hurt along with his choir and congregation. Homecoming will follow on Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. with Bethany Baptist Church pastor the Rev. Carlton O. Clark Jr. along with his choir, ushers, deacons and congregation. Dinner will be served after the service.

AUGUST 18

ANNUAL LISTINGS, The Lunenburg Rotary Club is collecting annual listings for the Kenbridge and Victoria Community Calendars. 2ND PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY, 2 p.m. of Pastor Anita Lewis at New Gilfield R.Z.U.A. Church. All are welcome. Dinner will be served.

SEPTEMBER 23

CLASS REUNION, 6 p.m. of the Nottoway Senior High Class of 1977. Cocktails and dinner will be held at the Blackstone Herb Cottage. Cost is $35. Members may also attend the Nottoway High School home football game against Buckingham on Sept. 22.
