Kenston Forest varsity girls place second in VCC volleyball tourney, JV places first

Kenston Forest School’s varsity girls volleyball team came up short in the Virginia Colonial Conference (VCC) tournament title match Saturday, while the Lady Kavaliers junior varsity (JV) squad was victorious.
The No. 9 varsity Lady Kavs visited No. 8 Tandem Friends School on Tuesday evening in the first round of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division III state tournament.
After defeating Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School 3-0 in the VCC quarterfinals and topping Amelia Academy 3-1 in the semifinals, the varsity Lady Kavs fell 3-2 to Richmond Christian School in the finals.
The Kenston JV team beat Southampton Academy 2-1 in the semifinals of the JV tourney and then beat Brunswick Academy 2-1 in the championship match.
