Virginia gas prices rise

BOSTON — Average retail gasoline prices in Virginia have risen 3.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.34 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 4,081 gas outlets in Virginia. According to a press release, this compares with the national average that has increased 1.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.55 per gallon.
“Including the change in gas prices in Virginia during the past week, prices yesterday were 31.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 2.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago,” officials said in the release. “The national average has increased 8.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 39.8 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.”
According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices Nov. 13 in Virginia have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.02 per gallon in 2016, $2 per gallon in 2015, $2.72 per gallon in 2014, $3.05 per gallon in 2013 and $3.26 per gallon in 2012.
