Excitement

I woke up this morning tingling with excitement. Whenever this occurs I just know something wonderful is going to happen that day. I cannot explain it but it’s true. I told my sister, Beulah, “It’s happening.” She said what’s happening and I said I don’t know but I am ready for it. We both laughed and drove off to the mall.

At the mall we met an elderly woman with a beautiful head full of gray hair. I told the woman that her hair was beautiful and the conversation began. She was 90 old but she looked as if she could be in her early 80’s. The lady was wearing heels and makeup. She said she was going to the opera later on that evening. I told her I used to listen to the opera on TV when I was younger but never went to a concert. We talked for a few more minutes and when she got ready to depart she said I had made her day because she was not feeling well until she met me. I remarked that we made each other’s day and it was true because I love meeting new people.

After leaving her I met this young girl that was admiring a mini skirt. I said “can you believe that I use to wear those?

“She was shocked and it made me laugh. I told her I had two: one brown and one blue. I said my husband gave them to me. She still looked shocked so I said I couldn’t believe it either. We both laughed and I told her that my generation wore some of the things that her generation wears and we’ve done some of the same things her generation is doing today, we laughed again. After talking for a little longer, it was time for us to go our separate ways. The young lady said I was nice and I said she was too. She brought back many memories and made my day.

Later I met a little boy who was crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said he couldn’t find his mother. I said “don’t cry, we’ll find her together.” We saw his mother as we were on our way to page her. She was so happy to see him and we started a conversation. Her son was walking beside the cart when she stopped to get something. When she looked up he was gone. She was frightened that he was lost but happy when she saw him. Our conversation was short but pleasant. She ended it with thank you for finding my son.

Today I met three nice ladies and one sweet little boy. Thank You Jesus for letting them come into my life even if it was only for a short moment. They have brought joy today and I hope I did the same for them.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
