Decorations winners announced

The Lunenburg County School Board Office was declared the overall best-decorated business by the Lunenburg County Chamber of Commerce in the chamber’s 2017 Business Christmas Decorations Contest.

The school board office at 1009 Main St. in Kenbridge featured sets of warm and festive decorations, including two wreaths on its door. It also won first place in the contest’s Traditional Theme category.

Kenbridge business Twigs & Berries at 319 Main St. won second place, with Teased Hair & Nail Salon at 1803 Main St. in Victoria winning third and LoweMart Thrift Store at 303 Main St. in Kenbridge winning honorable mention.

There were 10 entries for the Traditional Theme category, according to information provided by the chamber.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney Office in Victoria located at 1811 Main St. won first place for its Religious Theme category. It was the only entry for the category, the chamber cited.

The Next in Line Consignment Shop at 122 S. Broad St. in Kenbridge won first place in the Novelty Theme category.

Close-by, Shear Design at 211 S. Broad St. in Kenbridge won second place, and Virginia Marble at 1201 Fifth Ave. in Kenbridge won third. Gallion-Elder Insurance at 1703 Main St. in Victoria received honorable mention. There were four entries for the Novelty Theme category, the chamber cited.
