Central varsity boys basketball has 0-3 week

The Central High School varsity boys basketball team faced a challenging slate of opponents last week and suffered a trio of lopsided losses.

Participating in a tournament at Altavista Combined School on Thursday and Friday, the Chargers fell 78-42 to host Altavista on Friday and 62-27 to Brookville High School on Thursday.

To open its play for the week Dec. 19, Central faced Randolph-Henry High School, which is undefeated in the James River District, and the Chargers lost 64-21.

Central (0-7) will look to get in the win column when it returns to the court Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m., hosting Prince Edward County High School (2-5).
