A blank t-shirt holds infinite possibilities.

The Friends of the Victoria Public Library (FOVPL) will look to help unleash the creativity of young artists while also encouraging students to learn about the importance of literacy.

FOVPL will sponsor a t-shirt design contest in the next month, “as part of our mission to heighten awareness of the importance of literacy and education. One of the rules of the contest is that the design reflect that importance,” officials with the FOVPL said.

A representative of FOVPL cited that the organization has delivered rules and entry forms to Lunenburg County Public School (LCPS) students, families and LCPS personnel.

“We want to let Lunenburg students who are home-schooled or attend private schools know that they and their families can enter the contest by downloading rules and entry forms,” the representative said.

Officials noted the entry forms are located on the FOVPL website, www.fovpl.org, under the “events” tab, or by picking them up at Gallion-Elder Insurance during normal working hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Officials said students can only submit one design per person.

The deadline will be Feb. 16, officials cited.
