Chargers face strong competition

Central High School’s varsity and junior varsity (JV) boys basketball teams faced stiff James River District challenges last week posed by Goochland High School and Nottoway High School. On Friday, the varsity Chargers fell 59-38 to visiting Goochland, and the JV Chargers fell 46-22 earlier in the evening. On Jan. 10, the varsity Chargers hosted the Nottoway Cougars and lost 59-48, and the JV Chargers lost 44-14. The teams visited Buckingham on Tuesday and host William Campbell on Thursday.
