It’s 10:45 p.m. and I am sitting at my computer thinking about Angels. What are Angels and why were they created? Angels are spiritual beings created by God to serve Him. In Psalm 148: 1- 5, God is commanding that the celestial heavens and the Angels praise (Him) the Name of the Lord.

I believe I have a Guardian Angel. I remember when I worked in New York City I used to ride the trains and buses at different hours. When I worked the night shift my hours were usually 7 p.m-1 a.m. or 8 p.m.- 2 a.m. Sometimes when I rode the subway there were only two individuals, me and someone else. I was never afraid because I always prayed and asked God for His protection. After getting off the subway I had to take the bus. Depending on what time I got to the bus stop the bus that would take me a block from my house was not running. If that was the case I would have to take a different bus that would let me off five blocks from the house. Again, I was not afraid because my Guardian Angel was with me.

When I worked the day shift my lunch hours were usually different than my friends/coworkers. They went to lunch at noon and my lunch hour was 1 p.m. Sometimes my friends came back to the office with exciting news of what happened when they were out to lunch. One time a bank was robbed while they were there and another time a man with a machete was in the store where they were playing lotto. Their lunch was always exciting and they wanted to know why nothing happened when I was having lunch. I told them each time I was out my Angel told me to steer clear of certain places and I listened. The only exciting news I had to tell was what type of food I ate and how much I enjoyed it. I’m a firm believer that if we are willing to listen to our inner voice we will not make so many mistakes. I know that when I don’t listen it usually leads to trouble.

Two weeks before my cancer I was working in my office when I felt someone watching me. It was not my husband because he was in the bedroom. I looked around but no one was there. I went back to typing and again it felt like someone was there. I said oh well it cannot be anyone else but my Guardian Angel making sure I was ok.

I once read a story about a man named John who was walking down a dark and lonely street at night when a man was approaching him. John was afraid and he prayed to God for help. The man walked on past him. The next morning John read in the paper that someone was attacked that night after the man had passed him. John wanted to know why the man did not attack him so he went to the police station to question the man. John said I walked past you but you did not attack me, why? The man said I was going to rob and kill you but you were walking with two big strong men. John realized what the man saw were Angels walking and taking care of him. I left a lot out of the story but the premise was God provides Angels to protect us

Psalm 91:11-12 says, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They shall bear you up in their hands lest you dash your foot against the stone.” Angels have always been a part of my life, take a look around, I’m sure you have one too.

Be Bless In Jesus’ Name.
