Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) is preparing its budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year, division Superintendent Charles Berkley said Monday.

Berkley said the LCPS School Board held a meeting Jan. 8 to allow the public to offer input on the potential budget and what allocations would need to be made.

“We had no one to speak at the public hearing on Jan. 8,” said Berkley, who noted that no draft of the potential budget had been presented during the meeting.

Berkley said the division is preparing the budget, which will be presented to the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors in the spring.

“We are working on the budget now, and it will not be presented until late March to the board of supervisors,” Berkley said.
