Central varsity girls earn 1st win

Central High School’s varsity girls basketball team won for the first time this season when it defeated visiting Randolph-Henry (R-H) 37-24 on Friday. Central Head Coach Scott Wilson noted his team “has been playing great defense. In the R-H game, the offense ran pretty smoothly for all 32 minutes.” Freshman DaJaMeka White-Freeman, No. 14, pictured at left, scored a career-high 15 points. Junior Haley Hayer runs in the background. Senior Megan Dech and junior Riley Long had seven boards; Dech also had five blocks.
