A series of free classes detailing tips for good health, particularly on a budget, will be offered at the Victoria Public Library in February and March.

The classes will focus on understanding nutrition and exercise and provide solutions to help incorporate healthy choices into everyday life.

A flyer detailing the event cited that participants can take gifts relating to the classes home, including a cookbook, “Cooking is a SNAP” relating to healthy recipes using items under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); an insulated lunch bag; an exercise stretch band and a food and refrigerator thermometer among other items.

The classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, 20, 27 and March 6 and 13.

Christine Kimbrel, who will lead the classes, is an adult Family Nutrition Program Assistant with Virginia Tech’s Cooperative Extension Office, which works in Brunswick, Mecklenburg and Lunenburg counties.

Kimbrel said the classes offer practical advice in addition to practical tools.
