A community concert, hosted by Victoria Baptist Church located at the corner of Eighth Street and Washington Avenue, is set for Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m. Participating local musicians will include Michelle Zava Bolter, Stacy Sharpe Branch, J.B. Crenshaw and Cindy & Robert Foley. The program will include gospel, contemporary Christian, country and other genres of music.

Bolter, a native of Victoria, now residing in Kenbridge, has been singing in churches and concert venues since she was a youngster. Her blend of country, bluegrass, and gospel has delighted audiences around Southside Virginia for years.

Branch, of Victoria, started taking piano lessons at the age of three. She enjoys playing for church services, weddings, funerals and other special occasions, as well as for her own enjoyment. Branch credits her musical ability as a gift from God.

Crenshaw is a native of Victoria and his musical influences range from the Beatles and James Taylor, to classic country, gospel and the church hymnal. He currently serves as pastor at Bethel Christian Church in Green Bay.

Cindy Overton Foley was born and raised in Lunenburg County. She is a member of Victoria Baptist Church and has been part of the church’s contemporary singing group “Reflections of Hope” since 2001. She enjoys singing solos and singing with her son Robert.

Robert Foley is a Lunenburg County native who recently relocated to Prince Edward. At 19, he began teaching himself to sing and play keyboard, finding musical guidance and encouragement from fellow members at Victoria Baptist Church. Robert enjoys performing both contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns, often blending various songs together or adjusting arrangements to create something new from familiar tunes.
