Central High School senior center Megan Dech was named to the All-Region 1B second team.

“The regional coaches were impressed by her defensive skills this season,” Lady Chargers Head Coach Scott Wilson said.

He noted that Dech averaged 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 blocks and three steals per game.

“It was a well-deserved recognition for Megan,” Wilson said. “This was her first year starting at the varsity level. She worked extremely hard at each practice and game to improve, and it paid off by being selected to the all-region team. I am very proud of her being named to the all-region team and her dedication to the program. She was an excellent role model for the younger players on the team, both on and off the court.”

Central fell in the first round of the regional tournament to top-seeded Altavista Combined School.
