VFW Post 9954 of Victoria has a flag disposal box co-located with the Sergeant Cornelius (Bud) Arvin memorial. The flag disposal box was designed and created by VFW 9954 Post member Jerry Matthews. The box provides a place for citizens to deposit worn or damaged flags. Flags are removed from the box by VFW Post 9954 and given proper disposal. Recently nearly 50 flags were removed from the disposal box. This large number of flags demonstrates our citizens care of our national colors.
