Optimism

up in the morning and I feel an unbelievable sense of optimism. I feel like God has something wonderful in store for me … for you … for us!

Last year while I was in Maryland I went with my daughter to Burlington Coat Factory. We saw a plaque that said “Today is Going to be a Great Day!” She purchased the plaque so she could put it up in her office because she said sometimes everyone needs a reminder; I couldn’t agree more.

We all have a choice on how we want to view the world. Life is not always fair, heck, it’s not even always happy but it is life and we are blessed to be here to experience it. Even during the rough times we have to say to ourselves that tomorrow is going to be a great day and then we should look forward to it.

Does that mean a person should fight back tears when they are feeling blue? Of course not. It means cry your tears, experience your sadness and when it’s over, pick yourself back up and look forward to a newer brighter day because God has so much more in store for us than what we just went through. Psalm 118- 24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Take some time to just breathe and be thankful for even the little things. You don’t need anything spectacular to make you appreciate life, just appreciate it. I read an online quote that said “The best days are when you don’t need anything extreme or special to happen to make it great. You just appreciate and enjoy what is and that’s perfect enough.” Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
