The Kenston Forest School varsity golf team experienced its first losses of the 2018 season last week, but the Kavaliers also added to their win total and legacy of success in the Virginia Colonial Conference (VCC).
In the April 18 state poll released by the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, the Kavs were the No. 5-ranked team in Division II right behind Isle of Wight Academy, which they faced Thursday.
Playing on a very windy day at Cypress Creek Golf Course in Smithfield, the Chargers dominated the Kavaliers, winning 173-208. However, Kenston Forest was competing without two of its top-five players. Tyler Borum led the way for the Kavs with a 45.
On April 17, the Kavs shot a 187 at Nottoway River Country Club in Blackstone to defeat Banner Christian School by five strokes and Brunswick Academy by six.
