God’s Love

There was a contest between God and Satan when suddenly a storm came up and Satan lost all his material. He asked God why He didn’t lose His? God looked at him and simply replied, “Jesus saves.”
As young children going to Sunday School and church, the first Bible verse we learned was John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” We also learned the song “Jesus loves me.” All the kids would sing, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so; Little one to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me, for the bible tells me so.”
When you think of the love of God, you must scratch your head and say what a mighty God we serve. God’s love is not like ours, His love is unconditional, it never fails, it endures forever, not calculating and not motivated by gain. He gives us every chance to undo the mistakes we have made. God is a loving Father and a God of second chances.
Like our earthly fathers, God wanted a family so He created us to be His family. Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.’” In Genesis 1:27, “God created man and female and He Blessed them.” God is love and He wants us to become His sons and daughters and to learn to love Him and His creation as He loves us.
I met a 79-year-old man and he told me how God woke him up this morning and he was able to work in his yard. He said he has not felt this good in months. God is truly good to him because he looks in his early 60s.
God’s love is a love you can depend on. When I learned I had cancer it was a scary feeling but one thing I knew was God was going to take care of me, and the fear dissipated into joy because God was in control. When He is in control, He will take care of everything. Be bless in Jesus’ name.
