Homeowner water testing clinic

The Lunenburg Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) will be offering a homeowner water testing clinic for well, spring and cistern owners. Testing kits can be picked up at the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office at 11409 Courthouse Road, Lunenburg, on May 17, 22, or 24 or by appointment. Contact the VCE office at (434) 696-5526 or Lindy Fimon at (434) 321-2009 for appointments. There is a fee due at the time of pick up. Testing will include iron, manganese, sulfate, hardness, alkalinity, sodium, copper, nitrate, arsenic, fluoride, pH, total dissolved solids, coliform bacteria, E. coli bacteria, and lead. Samples must be dropped off at the VCE office May 30, 2018, between 7:30 – 9 a.m. for transportation to the Virginia Tech lab for processing. Test results require a minimum of four weeks. Results will be handed out and information given at a results meeting scheduled for July 12.
