The Lunenburg Girls’ Softball (LGS) Belles All-Star team was set to face the Clarksville All-Stars on Tuesday in the championship game of the Dixie Softball Belles All-Star District 1 Tournament in Dinwiddie.

Meanwhile, the semifinals of the Dinwiddie-hosted Dixie Softball Darlings All-Star District 1 Tournament were set to feature Lunenburg versus South Hill and Crewe-Burkeville versus Dinwiddie on Tuesday.

The LGS Belles reached the final after solid defense and pitching allowed them to defeat Clarksville 13-4. Prior to that, they routed South Hill 17-3.

The LGS Darlings faced a tough Crewe-Burkeville squad in the second round, kept the game close early, but ended up losing 13- 4. Still alive in the double-elimination tourney, LGS rallied to beat Clarksville 10-9 and set up its semifinal bout with South Hill.
