A friend in need is a friend indeed

The slogan, “A friend in need is a friend indeed” has been around for as long as I can remember but what exactly does it mean? It actually has two meanings: 1. When someone needs your help they become extremely friendly toward you to get it. 2. When someone helps you in your time of need they show themselves to be a true friend indeed.
Last Saturday night I attended a beautiful affair, an affair I was looking forward to for weeks. When I got to the place I found a seat and started chatting with friends. We were having a good time laughing and catching up with each other. Finally, I decided to get my money out so I could pay for my ticket. What a surprise when I realized I didn’t have any money on me. I was so embarrassed and felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack; OK, not an anxiety attack but I was embarrassed and panicking. The pressure was mounting and I was wondering what to do when a friend asked, “What’s the matter and how can I help?” I told her the problem and she said no worries, I got you and gave me what I needed to pay for my ticket.
I believe whenever we are in trouble and don’t know what to do God will always send someone to our aid. I tell my family and friends that God always has a ram in the bush whenever it’s needed. If my friend had not been there it would have been quite an embarrassment for me and the person at the door. God said, “Call on Me and I will answer” and you can believe God means what He said. Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
