AUGUST 1

DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR 2018 MASTER GARDENER TRAINING, 6-9 p.m. sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension and South Central Master Gardener Association at the Kenbridge Emergency Squad. The event will take place Aug. 20 – Oct. 11.

AUGUST 4

BENEFIT YARD SALE, 8 a.m. – noon to benefit Palmer Springs firehouse at 1697 Palmer Springs Road, Palmer Springs. BAKE SALE, 8 a.m. at Salem Christian Church, 4698 Fort Mitchell Drive, Chase City.

RUMMAGE SALE, 8 a.m. – noon at The Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. Andrews, corner of Shade and Broad Street, Kenbridge.

AREA E MEN & WOMEN’S MEETING, 10 a.m. at the Meadville Center. The Bannister Association will be hosting. All men and women from the Cherrystone Association, the Bannister Association, the Bluestone Harmony Association and the Sunnyside Association are encouraged to attend.

AUGUST 5

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at New Galilee Baptist Church. The Rev. Malcolm Crutchfield and The Bethel Memorial RZUA Church family of LaCrosse will render the service. Everyone is welcome.

HOMECOMING, noon at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Kenbridge. The Rev. Ricky Allen, Sr. will deliver the message. Revival will follow Tuesday- Thursday with prayer and praise service at 7:30 p.m. and preached word at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Rather. Come out and support.

AUGUST 7

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, 5-7 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park. The event will let people meet officers from Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Victoria and Kenbridge Police Departments and Victoria Fire & Rescue. School supply giveaway from Klassy Divas and HiWay Ballaz, Virginia State Police bomb truck demonstration, watermelon eating contest and an appearance from the Central High School band. All school aged children urged to attend.

AUGUST 12

HOMECOMING/ FAMILY AND FRIEND’S DAY, 11 a.m. at Union R.Z.U.A. Church, Meredithville. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Larry P. McCray and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist church family of Washington, D.C. Dinner will be served and the public is welcome to attend.

HOMECOMING/ FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Speaker will be the Rev. Darrel K. Jones, Kingdom Building Fellowship, New Kent. SPECIAL MUSIC, 11 a.m. at Oakland Christian Church, 3627 Brickland Road. Performing will be Smokey Wilson. Dinner will be served on the grounds.

AUGUST 14-16

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. nightly at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 2104 Jonesboro Road, Kenbridge. Different speakers each night. Prayer and praise service begins at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

SUMMER PARK MINISTRY, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park, Victoria sponsored by Central Baptist Church, Victoria.
