AUGUST 22-24

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. with Prayer and praise at Springfield Baptist Church, Meherrin. A different minister will deliver the sermon each night at 8 p.m. All are welcome.


SUMMER PARK MINISTRY, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park, Victoria, sponsored by Central Baptist Church, Victoria.

GOSPEL SINGING PROGRAM, 5 p.m. of the Deaconess Ministry of the Friendship Baptist Church, 6351 South Hill Road, Kenbridge. Guests for the program will include the Blackstone Community Chorus, God’s Community Praise and Saint Matthew’s Gospel Chorus. Come out and join us for an evening of song and praise.


PROGRAM, 2 p.m. at Gilfield Baptist Church, Kenbridge, hosted by the missionary ministry. The program will be a skit entitled “The Walk of Faith.” Everyone is welcome.

YOUTH SERVICE, 6 p.m. at Victoria Nazarene Church for ages 12-24 in the fellowship hall. This is “Wacky Night,” games, food and a showing of the movie “Priceless.”

ANNUAL PROGRAM, 11 a.m. for the adult and junior choirs of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome.

ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Mayflower Baptist Church, 3620 Sneads Store Road, Kenbridge to celebrate its 111th year and the 23rd year of pastor the Rev. Michael Brown. Guest minister will be the Rev. Lenor Jackson and New Galliee Baptist Church will render the music. Dinner will be served. Come out and help us celebrate.

WORSHIP SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 2104 Jonesboro Road, Kenbridge. Speaker will be the Rev. Darrell K. Jones. Everyone welcome.

AUGUST 26-31

HOMECOMING/ REVIVAL, 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House. Pastor Henry L. Fleshman, Jr. will deliver the homecoming sermon with music by the senior choir. Revival will be held Monday – Friday at 7 p.m. with guest pastor John Craighead, of Mossingford Baptist Church, Randolph. Music will be provided by different choirs each night. Everyone welcome.


LUNENBURG CHAMBER TO MEET, noon at Mildred’s Meals. We will vote on bylaws amendment. Door Prize drawing. For other news and events, go to www.


HOMECOMING, 3 p.m. at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City with guest speaker the Rev. Wyatt Vaughan and Antioch Baptist Church mass choir. Dinner will be served. Everyone welcome.


REMEMBRANCE VIGIL, 6:30 p.m. hosted by the Southside Center for Violence Prevention/ Madeline’s House for Madeline at Wilck’s Lake in Farmville. Candlelight service at 7:30 p.m.


ANNUAL BBQ DINNER AND DOG FIELD TRAIL, 5-7 p.m. at Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Dine in or carry out. The Fox Hound Bench Show follows dinner at 7:30 p.m.
