Amateur photographers are reminded that Saturday, Sept. 15, is the deadline for submission of their entries for the annual photography contest sponsored by the Lunenburg County Historical Society. Contestants of any age may each enter one photograph – full color or black and white – that they feel best reflects the theme of the contest: “Reflections of Lunenburg’s Yesterday.”
Entrants do not have to be residents of Lunenburg County; however, the submitted photo must have been taken in Lunenburg County within the 12 months ending Sept. 15, 2018.
All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Entry forms and full contest rules are available at Lunenburg County’s two public libraries: Ripberger Public Library in Kenbridge and Victoria Public Library in Victoria. If you are unable to come to either library for your entry form, email firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy.
Photo submissions are to be an unframed 5” x 7” print mounted without glass covering on a mat, cardboard or poster board. The print is to be accompanied by a fully completed copy of the contest entry form. The original digital image or negative must be available to judges on request. The judges may declare no winners in a category. Entries will not be returned.
Each entry must be received during business hours on or before Sept. 15, at either the Ripberger Public Library in Kenbridge or the Victoria Public Library in Victoria.
Judging for each entry will be based on creativity, quality and originality as relevant to the theme. Winners will be announced in October. Cash prizes will be awarded in each of the two categories.
