On Sept. 19, George Blackwell of Lunenburg, a graduate of Central Senior High School, completed the Southside Virginia Community College Power Line Worker Training.

The 11-week program provided both classroom and hands-on training in safety, climbing techniques, electrical theory, aerial framing, rigging, Operation Utility Service Equipment and Commercial Driver’s License Training.
