Central JV football falls to 2-3

Central High School’s junior varsity football team fell to 2-3 for the season Thursday when it lost 28-15 to visiting Amelia.

The Chargers rode a two-game winning streak into the contest with the Raiders. The wins came in definitive fashion against both district and non-district competition.

Central routed host Nelson 30-0 on Oct. 10.

Six days prior, the Chargers defeated host Randolph-Henry 28-8.

Three days prior to that, Central hosted Nottoway and lost 22-6.

The Chargers opened their 2018 season with a competitive game against visiting Goochland that they lost 23-14.

Central has two games remaining on its schedule. It visits William Campbell on Wednesday and Buckingham on Monday. Both games are set to start at 6:30 p.m.
