Participants took to the streets of the Town of Victoria to raise funds for Victoria Fire & Rescue on Saturday.

Victoria Fire & Rescue Chief Rodney Newton said the bucket brigade is an annual fundraiser held the first weekend of November.

“Members man posts throughout town with buckets to collect donations to help fund the operations of the department,” Newton said.

He said as of noon on Saturday more than $7,000 had been collected. “Any and all donations are greatly appreciated as the costs of operations are continuing to rise,” Newton said.
