Howard Franklin Davis, Sr, beloved husband and father, passed away on December 12, 2018. Born October 17, 1930 in Brunswick County, Virginia, Howard was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Air Force, a farmer, and was Lunenburg County Forest Warden before beginning Howard Davis Construction Co. in Kenbridge, VA with his wife Jean. Projects included Brunswick County Courthouse & Clerk’s Office, South Hill Fire Station, Kenbridge Baptist Church, several county public schools, and private homes. They also owned and operated Southside Auto Service in Kenbridge.
Howard’s Christian faith and giving nature enriched many lives. He was a loving role model for his family and was always ready to help others. He was active in his community and with Scouting.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Frances French Davis; son Howard Davis, Jr. (Sue); daughters, Mary Kay Winn (Everett) and Nancy Davis; grandsons Ben and Josh Winn (Susan) and Tom and Joe Davis; five great-grandchildren Duncan, Genevieve, Eleanor, Liam and River; two sisters Ann Bowen and Emily Steed; sister-in-law Betty Davis, and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Andrew Wesley Davis.
