Hearing set for police car

The Town of Kenbridge is expected to hold a public hearing concerning applying for a grant for a new police vehicle during its first meeting of the new year.

The town council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 15, 6:50 p.m. at the Kenbridge Community Center.

Council members, according to Kenbridge Town Manager Robyn Fowler are requesting input from the public about applying for a grant where funds would be used toward purchasing a new police vehicle.

The Town of Victoria held a similar public hearing Dec. 11 for a police vehicle purchase. The council is set to file an application for grant funding from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program. The funding would go toward purchasing a Dodge Charger police vehicle.
