Winter storm watch in effect Saturday

A winter storm watch was announced for the region beginning during the day Saturday, according to reports from the National Weather Service (NWS) location in Wakefield.

The Lunenburg winters storm watch begins at noon Saturday and ends at midnight on Monday.

Regionally, snowfall is expected to measure between 2-6 inches, though probabilistic readings in Lunenburg read up to 5 inches as of Friday morning.

“A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel,” a report from the NWS cited. “Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.”
