Richmond native and long time area resident Noel Oliver has been hired as staff writer and photographer for The Kenbridge–Victoria Dispatch and Farmville Newsmedia, LLC.

Working previously as a freelance correspondent with Pennsylvania-based agricultural publication Lancaster Farming News, Oliver will cover news, feature stories and other assignments for The Kenbridge–Victoria Dispatch.

During his time with Lancaster Farming News, Oliver worked as a Virginia Correspondent for the paper’s Southern Edition, which encompasses the Delaware/Maryland/Virginia region. His work as a news writer, however, began here in the Heart of Virginia.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work as a member of The Dispatch team and be able to focus my efforts within my community,” he said. “Even though I have lived here all along, being able to cover and report the news of the community feels a bit like coming home”

“Oliver is a great addition to our news team” said Dispatch Publisher, Betty J. Ramsey. “He brings with him a strong connection to the community and a passion for reporting and photography. Readers can expect to see him out and about in the community covering meetings and other news worthy events.”
