Everything wants to live

Around 20 years ago I was in Florida with my grandson and we saw a little green snake. I screamed “kill it Joey” but instead of killing it, he reached down and threw it into the bushes. I said, “why didn’t you kill it, it will grow into a big snake!” He said “grandma, everything wants to live.” I never forgot his words “everything wants to live.”
How blessed we are that Jesus provided us with the gift of life. Every day is a true blessing and we should rejoice knowing that God has given us another opportunity to live our lives.
There were three health scares in my family last month: my sister, my husband and my son-in-law. All three scares were serious but one thing was certain, Jesus is a mighty, awesome, and loving Father.” All three of my family members came through with flying colors and are doing much better today. Despite separate illnesses, they all had one thing in common, they all wanted to live.
The gift of life is a powerful thing. We take it for granted and complain about the little things. Waiting in traffic, cold food, bills, the job. But there are plenty of people who have reached the end of their life that would change places with you in a second. So shout your thanks unto the Lord and be grateful that today, you have been blessed with this wonderful thing we call life.
John 14:2 In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it was not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Proverbs 19:8 The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper. Be bless in Jesus’ name.
