Centra Health is continuing to recruit a doctor for the Town of Victoria office, Community Engagement and Relations for Centra Southside Community Hospital Kerry Mossler confirmed.

Mossler said while a doctor has not yet been chosen, recruitment is “continuing at this time.”

Dr. Mary Cabrera, in a letter to patients, recently confirmed that she will be leaving the Town of Victoria Centra office at 1418 Sixth St. Dr. Cabrera is expected to relocate at the Centra Medical Group walk-in facility in the Town of Farmville April 1.

“I have enjoyed my time caring for patients in Victoria,” Cabrera said in the letter dated Feb. 5. “It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you and your families.”

“I understand that this will be a difficult transition; however, I will assist in any way possible during this time,” Cabrera said in the letter.

Cabrera has been at the Victoria office for 10 years.
