Lunenburg County residents, members of the Lunenburg County NAACP, and NAACP representatives from surrounding counties gathered at the Peoples Community Center in Victoria to celebrate the annual Freedom Fund Banquet Saturday.
The keynote speaker for the event was Nathan S. Burwell III, who delivered a message titled, “Where Have All the Black Fathers Gone.”
Organizer Wanda Gordon Morrison said two residents, Sabrina Reed and Rose Berry, were recognized as NAACP life members during the banquet.
“The Lunenburg County NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Banquet was a wonderful time of fellowship with family and friends, good food and enlightening information,” Morrison said.
