Joseph Wallace “Joe” Abernathy, 71, of Kenbridge, Va. joined his family in Heaven on March 27, 2019. He was one of sixteen children of the late Eddie Wilson Abernathy and Ethel Abernathy Sparks. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dallas Bohannon Abernathy; his son, Kevin Abernathy (Jessica); “Papa” to Conner and Kristen Abernathy; and devoted friend, Sarah Daniel.

Joe will always be remembered for his love of family, mules, horses, gardening, hunting and fishing.

Services were held Saturday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Clarke Staples Funeral Home, Kenbridge. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Va.
