Chaffin awarded $mart$tart scholarship

Recent Central High School graduate and Benchmark Community Bank $mart$tart Community Commitment Scholarship recipient Kayla Chaffin, center, is shown being congratulated by Benchmark Community Bank’s Natasha Gill, left and Courtney Bender. The annual $mart$tart Community Commitment Scholarship is named for the bank’s savings and money management program designed for teens ages 13-17. The scholarship recognizes dedication to community and extracurricular service throughout a student’s high school career. Chaffin plans to attend Randolph-Macon College to study communications.
