Following an uncontested primary, Del. Tommy Wright has been named the Republican nominee to continue representing his constituents in the 61st District for the Virginia House of Delegates.
“I am honored to continue carrying the banner for conservative principles for those who have entrusted me to be their voice in Richmond as the delegate from HD61,” said Wright. “I am proud of my record of fighting to make sure my constituents can keep more of their hard earned money in their pockets and protecting our Second Amendment rights. I was honored to recently be named ‘Legislator of the Year’ by the Family Foundation for my 100 percent voting record on pro-life issues to protect the unborn and for supporting traditional family values. Additionally, as chairman of the State Water Commission I am proud of the work I have accomplished to ensure our water and other natural resources are protected. I look forward to taking my positive message of results and ideas for the future to every voter in the district.”
Del. Wright has served in the House of Delegates since 2001. He represents the 61st district located in the counties of Amelia, Cumberland, Mecklenburg, Nottoway and parts of Lunenburg. He serves as the chairman for the House Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee. Additionally, he serves on the General Laws Committee; and Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee.
