To honor our commitment to the Commonwealth, Keep Virginia Beautiful (KVB) funded thirty grant recipients — one each day in the month of June, for its “30 in 30 Green Grants” program. These grants were given to schools, parks, counties and towns, environmental groups, associations and Keep America Beautiful affiliates in four different categories: Community Beautification, Cigarette Litter Prevention, Litter Prevention and Recycling. Friends of Twin Lakes State Park, Green Bay, was a recipient of this year’s grant in the amount of $1,000 for it’s recycling efforts.

Since 2011, Keep Virginia Beautiful has provided $230,000 for 290 different projects throughout the state. We are grateful for the generosity this year of our partner Altria, as well as additional support from Keep America Beautiful and Coca-Cola. The mission at Keep Virginia Beautiful is to engage and unite Virginians to improve its natural and scenic environment through five impact areas: Litter Prevention, Waste Reduction, Recycling, Beautification and Environmental Education.
