Brenda Newkirk Hazlewood, 75, a sweet wife, Mama, Meme, sister, aunt and friend, peacefully passed into the arms of her Savior on July 6, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents

Robert and Mary Newkirk and her sister Mary Jane Sherman. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Weldon Hazlewood; her children, Gina Bonney (David), Jeff Hazlewood (Terri), and Jill Hart (Robbie); her grandchildren, Thomas, Mary Lauren, Olivia, Melissa, Jack, and Leona; brother, David Newkirk (Jane); mother-in-law, Leona Hazlewood; brother-in-law, Andy Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda retired from Chesterfield County Public Schools. She loved quilting, sewing, animals and spending time with her grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9 at 4 p.m. in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. In addition, memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Road, North Chesterfield. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a church of your choice. “Toots, peace be with you.”
