Eleanor G. Epps was born on October 4, 1932, in Virginia and left on that chariot on July 8, 2019 at 2 a.m. in the morning.

Eleanor grew up in Lunenburg County where she met and married Melvin S. Epps, Sr. They moved to New York City where they worked and lived until their retirement.

They later moved back to Virginia. Out of their union were born four children. Theresa, Melvin S. Jr., Darryl P. Sr. and Anthony W. Sr.

Eleanora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin S. Epps, Sr, son Melvin S. Epps, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Natalia Jones.

She leaves to mourn her 3 children; Theresa Holliday (Raymond), Melvin S. Epps, Jr. (Nereida), Darryl P. Epps, Sr. (Dorothy); and Anthony W. Sr.; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her two sisters; Meredith Nakabayashi, Shirley M. Caldwell and one brother; Landon Freeman, Jr, 2 honorary niece/daughters; Linda P. Smith and Shirley N. Caldwell and daughter-in- law, Coraleen Epps, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13, 11 a.m. at S.P. Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Louise C. Barnette providing Words of Comfort. Burial was private.

S.P. Jones and Son Funeral Home served the family.
