National Night Out, an annual event dedicated to interaction between the community and law enforcement agencies, is set for Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5-7 p.m.

This year’s event will be held in Kenbridge’s Town Park. Organizer Dawn Childers said the location of the event alternates between Kenbridge and Victoria, with last year’s National Night Out being held in the Town of Victoria’s Railroad Park.

“We will have face painting, emergency vehicles, music, dancing, free food, school supplies and much more,” Childers said. “Virginia State Police will be there with its Distracted Driver Simulator.”

Childers said the event is free of charge.

“It’s for all of the citizens of Lunenburg County,” she said.
